on "Obstetrics" part of "Obstetrics and Gynecology" course
for 4-th year students of specialty "General Medicine"

Autumn term

  1. Anatomy and physiology of the female reproductive system. The fetus as an object of childbirth.

  2. Medical care in obstetrics ang gynecology. Organization of the work of the maternity hospital. Organization of the work of the women's outpatients medical help. Sanitary and epidemiological regime of obstetric institutions. Physiological changes in women during pregnancy. Methods of examination in obstetrics and gynecology.

  3. Medical observation of pregnant women. Prevention of thromboembolic complications during pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period.

  4. Physiological childbirth. Normal postpartum period. Lactation. Signs of maturity of the newborn. Anatomical and physiological features of the newborn. The primary care of a newborn. Anesthesia of childbirth.

  2. Early toxicosis of pregnant women. Edema of pregnant women. Hypertension and Pregnancy. Preeclampsia.

  3. Eclampsia. HELLP syndrome.

  4. Extragenital diseases and pregnancy (diseases of the cardiovascular system, endocrine pathology; kidney pathology).

  5. Extragenital diseases and pregnancy (anemia, liver pathology, respiratory pathology, infectious diseases, hemostasis pathology, oncological diseases). Cholestatic hepatosis of pregnant women.
